Doug Henning a passé la majeure partie de sa vie à rechercher la magie. Je pense qu'il l'a trouvée. Durant les douze années et plus où j'ai travaillé sporadiquement pour Douglas, il n'y a jamais eu un instant dans son attitude envers son art, ses amis et collègues, ou son public, qui ait compromis, soit par cynisme ou hypocrisie, son insatiable soif d'émerveillement.
Doug croyait en la magie et, avec un savant mélange de charme, de sincérité et de sens du spectacle, il a convaincu son public que celle-ci existait vraiment.
Doug, à sa manière inimitable, a changé le visage de la magie au siècle dernier. Sa disparition a tragiquement volé une partie de cette magie à des millions de personnes à qui il a apporté le bonheur, ainsi qu'à ceux d'entre nous dont il a touché la vie de manière plus personnelle.
